HISTORY

OF

Have you ever wondered where in the world the name BAUHAUS (baʊhaʊs) came from? It’s hard to spell and hard to pronounce, so why did Sarah Kennison choose to name her salon Bauhaus 16 years ago?

While studying at McNeese State University, she learned of an art school in Germany called “Bauhaus" that was operational from 1919 to 1933. The school was made famous for its take on modern art and design using crafts and fine art.  The movement  even housed some of Sarah's favorite pieces. While attending Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy in California, she heard the name again. In one of her advanced cutting courses, she fell in love with one of Sassoon’s most famous collections: Vidal Sassoon and the Bauhaus also known as “The Bauhaus Bob.”

The name stuck out to her, and when her best friend  randomly suggested that she name her salon Bauhaus, she knew it was meant to be.  Just like the "Bauhaus Bob", Sarah's love for modern art and hair was now perfectly blended under the roof of her salon.
